
Aasma Shaukat

Aasma Shaukat, MD, MPH, is the director of outcomes research in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She has dual appointments as the endowed Robert M. and Mary H. Glickman Professor of Medicine and Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine and professor in the Department of Population Health. She also serves as Program Director for the KL2 program at the NYU CTSI and co-director of translational research education and careers in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at NYU Langone. Her research focusses on the study of colorectal cancer risk factors, screening modalities, long-term outcomes, and quality indicators for colonoscopy. A highly regarded clinician, distinguished epidemiologist, and prolific researcher, Dr. Shaukat has published extensively on colorectal cancer screening, prevention, and quality indicators for colonoscopy, including role of AI in colonoscopy quality.
