Translating New Mechanisms Relevant to Bile Acid Diarrhea

SOCIETY: AGA Bile acid diarrhea results from an excess amount of bile acids in the large intestine. Recent work which may have significant effects in producing clinical symptomatology will be reviewed, including the bacterial metabolism of bile acids, the presence of biofilms, and the stimulation of colonic enteroendocrine cell hormones, including INSL5, by bile acids.
