Satellite Symposia: New Horizons and Expert Insights on the Management of Recurrent Clostridioides difficile InfectionÊ

Date
May 6, 2023

Society: DDW

Medscape Prorgam Description Clostridioides difficile causes a serious infection of the lower GI tract, resulting in significant morbidity and sometimes death. Standard antibiotics used to treat toxin-producing C. difficile do not kill the bacterial spores, which leaves patients susceptible to recurrent infections. Novel microbiome-directed biopharmaceutical products are now approved for the prevention of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) recurrence and represent a major paradigm shift in the management of CDI. In this hybrid live CME event, clinician experts will review the clinical data on these important new therapies and how they can be incorporated into clinical practice. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panel in both the live and virtual setting. Supporter Supported by an independent educational grant from Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Seres Therapeutics, Inc. & Aimmune Therapeutics CME For Physicians Medscape, LLC designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsª. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. ??For Pharmacists ?Medscape designates this continuing education activity for ?1.50? contact hour(s) (?0.150? CEUs) (Universal Activity Number: ?JA0007105-0000-23-124-L01-P?).

INVESTIGATING THE EFFICACY OF ALPELISIB AND PI3Kα-S6K DUAL INHIBITION IN LIN28B-DRIVEN COLORECTAL CANCER METASTASIS
Colorectal cancer (CRC) shows a dramatic drop in the five-year survival rate from 90% for localized tumors to 14% for metastatic CRC (mCRC). Our lab has identified LIN28B, an RNA-binding protein overexpressed in 30% of CRCs, as an oncogene that promotes CRC metastasis…

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF GENE EXPRESSION PROFILES OF ESOPHAGOGASTRIC JUNCTION ADENOCARCINOMAS BASED ON ANATOMICAL CLASSIFICATION
BACKGROUND: Siewert's topographic classification (SW) has been used for treatment plan of esophagogastric junction adenocarcinomas (EGJA). But recently, molecular classifications categorized EGJA with similar characteristics and prognosis…

RNA SEQUENCING FROM BIOPSIES PERFORMED DURING FOOD ELIMINATION AND REINTRODUCTION IDENTIFIES SIGNATURES INVOLVED IN EARLY RECURRENCE OF EOE
RATIONALE: RNA sequencing studies have previously identified impaired barrier function and the subsequent proinflammatory response as critical to the pathogenies of EoE. However, the investigation into disease initiation is often limited by the inability to capture the disease early…
