Pre-Surgery and Pre-Procedure Assessment in Patients with Cirrhosis

SOCIETY: AGA The session will discuss common consults for patients with cirrhosis undergoing surgery or invasive procedures. Attendees will understand tools for surgical risk stratification, best practices for managing risks including bleeding as well as strategies for perioperative management. In addition, indications and preprocedural approach to TIPS will be reviewed. Attendees should attend this session to understand best practices for risk stratifying patients with cirrhosis undergoing surgery, to implement best strategies for perioperative management, and mitigating bleeding risk.
