Finding Fountains of Youth: Mechanisms of Aging and GI Cancers

Date
May 21, 2024

SOCIETY: AGA Aging is associated with increased GI cancer risk but the mechanisms underlying these age related effects are incompletely understood. Better understanding of mechanisms of aging and GI carcinogenesis will enable new approaches to early detection and prevention. Mechanisms such as epigenetic alterations, senescence and somatic mutation accumulation have been studied in the context of aging and cancer. The purpose of this session is to provide the newest research on mechanisms of aging and GI cancer in search of a "fountain of youth" for cancer interception.
