SOCIETY: AGA Better understanding of mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression in GI cancers will enable new approaches to early detection and prevention. Advanced in biomedical technologies can be leveraged to profile pre-cancers and cancers on multiple levels and over time. Collaborative efforts, such as the Human Tumor Atlas, are advancing our understanding of multiple GI cancers. The purpose of this session is to provide the newest information on mechanisms of GI tumor initiation and progression as well as provide updates on large-scale profiling efforts.
