Chronic Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection is the leading cause of gastric cancer and other adverse outcomes such as peptic ulcer disease. Emerging antibiotic resistance poses a substantial challenge against effective eradication of this organism. This session has two objectives: 1) to evaluate the efficacy of population-based HP screening in reducing gastric cancer incidence globally; 2) to summarize the latest evidence on optimize screening strategies and eradication regimens.
