Austin Gastroenterology
Dr. Andy Tau is a partner at Austin Gastroenterology. He graduated from Harvard University and spent 11 years at Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and GI fellowship, serving as chief resident and chief fellow.
He was named the 2021 Travis County Medical Society Young Physician of the Year while working as a full-time GI hospitalist during the COVID pandemic. A national expert in endoscopic hemostasis and advanced tissue closure, he has spoken at many Grand Rounds including Harvard MGH, Baylor College of Medicine, UT San Antonio, and Thomas Jefferson University. He pioneered endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) in Central Texas.
A first-generation Chinese American from Corpus Christi, Texas, he enjoyed football (played in college, now a spectator), family time, and developing endoscopic techniques. He speaks Spanish and Mandarin.
