Baha Moshiree, MD, MS-CI, FACG, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, Wake Forest Medical University and Director of Motility, in the Division of Gastroenterology at Atrium Health, in Charlotte, NC. She trained at the University of Florida for a combined undergraduate and medical school, later gastroenterology fellowship with a focus on functional bowel diseases and motility disorders. Her expertise and interests are in the diagnosis and management of patients with chronic gastrointestinal illnesses such as gastroparesis, intestinal pseudo-obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and constipation with pelvic floor disorders. She has participated in several multinational studies in both IBS and gastroparesis and is part of the international consensus guidelines for gastroparesis. Dr. Moshiree has continuous funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) targeting better treatment options for patients with CF, including a pilot study on use of rifaximin for CF patients with bloating and distension. She recently was a co-author on the ACGs's IBS Guidelines. Dr. Moshiree has previously received the Preceptor of the Year Award/Academician of Year from Atrium Health 2020 and the Wake Forest School of Medicine Established Investigator - Clinical/Population Award (2022). She is the #164 Women in Medicine recipient of Clinical Professorship at Wake Forest University. She is now an investigator on the NIH Gastroparesis consortium study.
